The Sustainable Places initiative is a scientific and cultural project that aims to establish itself as an observatory on smart cities, with a particular focus on the relationship between innovation and cities.
This year the ninth edition will be held from 28 September to 1 October in Rome, hosted by Eur Spa in the Palazzo dei Congressi (viale della Pittura, 50).
“Sustainable Places is a unique event of its kind, capable of engaging research, the market and political actors towards a better future for the built environment. It is an opportunity for everyone to be involved in the social changes that are transforming our planet. We are very proud to have brought it to Italy and Rome”, explains Thomas Messervey, founder and CEO of R2M Solution, creator of Sustainable Places 2021.
From research to the market, Sustainable Places is also the place to disseminate new EU initiatives, in the context of the Green New Deal, to discuss their political and implementation aspects, to tell about pilot projects through the voice and experience of those who contribute to making innovation, in the public and private sectors.
During workshops and study groups, the results of hundreds of researchers involved in European projects will be presented. In addition, also starting from the research work of Bas Boorsma, chief digital officer of the city of Rotterdam and co-founder of TSCAI and Raffaele Gareri, director of the digital transformation department of Roma Capitale and co-founder TSCAI, considering the results of the Smart City Laboratory of Roma Capitale, Sustainable Places chooses Eur as the ideal place to apply innovative models.
